CHAIRMAN & FOUNDER
Jeffrey Tarrant has more than three decades of experience picking emerging talent. Prior to founding MOV37 and Protégé Partners, Jeffrey managed institutional size alternative investments for private family fortunes and was a member of the board of the Investment Fund for Foundations. Jeffrey is known for investing in and seeding emerging managers, many of whom have become renowned names in the industry. During this time, Jeffrey also created Altvest (now a division of Morning Star), the hedge fund industry’s first Internet-based commercial database and analytics systems. Jeffrey was founder and director of ARK, (Absolute Return for Kids), a U.K. based charity with a mission to transform the lives of children. He is currently a director of WITNESS, a global human rights organization, and he is on the advisory board of The Angiogenesis Foundation. Jeffrey’s philanthropic efforts include active support for many award-winning social issue documentary films. Jeffrey Tarrant is a graduate of Harvard Business School and University of California at Davis.
PRESIDENT & CHIEF SCIENCE OFFICER
Adil has 26 years of experience in the markets. He received an M.A. in pure mathematics from MIT and B.A. in mathematics from University of Pennsylvania. He spent the first half of his career trading fixed income derivatives at JP Morgan, Nikko, Nomura, and Barclays. At Nomura and Barclays, he ran the systems and analytics groups for these products. He subsequently joined Capital Market Risk Advisors as a Senior Advisor specializing in structured products and hedge fund valuation. He joined Protégé in 2003 to head Risk Measurement. Adil became a partner in 2006 and specializes in Autonomous Learning Investment Strategies (ALIS), Relative Value and Market Independent Strategies. Adil used geometry to invent the Bias Ratio, a metric that detects return smoothing by active managers.
CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER
Michael is a Portfolio Manager and Partner at MOV37. He has over two decades of experience investing directly at the security level and indirectly as an asset allocator in alternative assets. His portfolio management experience includes Soros Fund Management LLC, Credit Suisse First Boston, and Financial Risk Management (FRM), where he was also the Global Head of Equities. Michael received an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School, where he is now also an Adjunct Associate Professor of Finance and Economics, and a B.S. in Economics from New York University.
ADVISOR
Josh is the founder of Alpha Features and co-founder of 33x, a machine learning and robotics consulting company. Prior to that he developed an event driven, fully autonomous equity trading strategy based on M.L. natural language processing techniques. His past academic research focused on learning models of complex dynamics from limited data. Josh received a Ph.D. and S.M. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in addition to a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology.
ANALYST
Tom worked as a research analyst for Aeris Capital, a Swiss family office, providing analysis of economic and market data. Prior to that, he worked for Robinson Reed Layton. He received a M.A. in Banking and Finance from the University of St. Gallen and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Cambridge.

Carol O’Donnell has extensive global legal and compliance experience serving financial institutions for over thirty years. She served DARA Capital US, Inc., a Swiss-owned boutique registered investment advisory and wealth management firm, as Director of Legal and Compliance, and she was General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of the Permal Group. She also specialized in the practice of corporate, securities and commodities law at recognized law firms and is a trustee of a US mutual fund and other private trusts. She is qualified to practice law in the States of New York and Connecticut, and has held securities and commodities registrations. Carol holds a J.D. from the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law and a B.S. in Business and Economics from Skidmore College.
ASSOCIATE
Vera is an associate at MOV37 and is part of the general administrative team. Previously Vera worked as an Intern and Assistant to the owner of Festivities Events. Vera received a B.A. in Communications from Loyola University-Maryland.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Kevin Mahoney is a Certified Public Accountant with over 25 years of accounting/auditing experience in the financial services industry. He has held CFO/Controller positions for hedge funds, fund-of-funds and private equity firms. Earlier in his career, he was an audit manager at Ernst & Young, and then moved on to hold senior level accounting positions at Trian Partners, Balyasny Asset Management, Terrapin Partners, and Argenis Capital Advisors. He holds a B.S. in Accounting degree from the University of Scranton and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
ANALYST
Kristine is an analyst at MOV37. Prior to this, she performed administrative functions for News Corp’s c-suite executive offices. Kristine received a B.A. in English Literature and Art History from New York University.
ASSOCIATE
Michaela is an associate at MOV37. Following her move to New York City in 2015, Michaela has worked as an executive assistant. Her practice for helping people stems from her education with massage therapy, yoga and wellness coaching that she received in Arizona between the years 2007 – 2011 at Apollo College and The Southwest Institute for Healing Arts.
ACCOUNTANT
Dave is a corporate accountant. Dave was the corporate controller and V.P. of Finance at Westwood One, Inc. from August 2005 to April 2008. He was responsible for the preparation of the financial statements and SEC reporting. Prior to his time at Westwood One, Dave had similar roles for a period of ten years at Edison Schools and MBI Consulting Inc. Dave graduated from St. John’s University in 1994 with a B.S. in Accounting and in 2005 with an M.B.A. in Finance.
ADVISOR
Michael Grossberg is a mathematician and computer scientist focused on applied data science. Michael has held faculty positions at Hebrew University, The Max Plank Institute, Columbia University and is now an Associate Professor at the Grove School of Engineering, City College, City University of New York. He teaches Data Science, Data Visualization, Machine Learning, Full-stack web development and is collaboratively teaching Data Science entrepreneurship in Fintech. He is also a founding co-director of the new Data Science and Engineering Master's program at the Grove School starting in the fall of 2018. He has more than 70 publications including book chapters and 9 U.S. patents; he has had papers published in Science, ACM Transactions on Graphics (SIGGRAPH), IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, Medical Physics, and Advances in Meteorology. Michael has consulted with financial institutions on technology, machine learning, and data visualization. He received a Ph.D. in Mathematics from MIT.
